Central Texas Cattleman’s Conference

 

            There will be a Central Texas Cattleman’s Conference held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Jordan Cattle Auction Arena, 1310 US 190, San Saba TX 76877.  Registration will be from 7:30 to 8:30 am with the program beginning at 8:30 am and it should conclude about 3:00 pm.  There is a $20 registration fee to attend which is payable at the door.  Two (2) continuing education units will be offered to individuals with a private pesticide applicator license and three (3) Beef Quality Assurance credits will be offered to individuals with an active status. 

            Topics and Speakers are:  “Being Prepared for the Unexpected Livestock Issues, Fever Ticks and Screwworms” by Dr. Sonja Swiger, AgriLife Extension Veterinary/Medical Extension Entomologist, Stephenville; “A Cattle Buyers Perspective” by Ken Jordan from San Saba, Keith Duncan from Lometa, Brent Wagner from Goldthwaite, and Danny Poe from Hamilton; “Cattle Handling” by Dr. Jason Cleere, AgriLife Extension Beef Cattle Specialist, College Station; “Vaccination and Herd Health” by Jamie Smith, Boehringer Ingelheim, Zephyr; and “Grazable Acres” by Dr. Robert Lyons, AgriLife Extension Range Specialist, Uvalde.
