Tri-County Range and Livestock Clinic in Brady, TX

Tri-County Range, Livestock Clinic Slated for Dec. 7 in Brady

                The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct the Tri-County Range and Livestock Clinic from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm December 7 at the Heart of Texas Event Center, 804 San Angelo Highway in Brady.

                The program is being conducted by the AgriLife Extension offices in McCulloch, Menard and Concho counties.  Pre-registration is $20 for those who RSVP by December 1 and $25 thereafter. 

                There will be a good and varied mix of topics with a top slate of speakers.  There will also be an excellent lunch sponsored by Central Texas Farm Credit.  Three (3) Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be offered.  It will be a good program featuring everything from sheep and cattle management to proper grass stewardship.  

                Topics and speakers will be:  “The Wonderful World of Grass and Your Stewardship” by Dr. Barron Rector, AgriLife Extension Range Specialist from College Station; “Laws and Regulations” by Cory Pence, Texas Department of Agriculture representative from San Angelo; “Drift Management” by Dr. Allan McGinty, retired AgriLife Extension Range Specialist from College Station; “Parasites in Sheep & Goats/Products on the Market” by Dr. Reid Redden, AgriLife Extension State Sheep & Goat Specialist from San Angelo, “Cattle Nutrition/Fall and Spring Calving” by Chase Runyan, Angelo State University Assistant Professor from San Angelo, and “Farm Bill Update” by Bill Thompson, AgriLife Extension Economist from San Angelo.
