Memorial Day Observance

One day a year the nation sets aside a special day to honor those who made the supreme sacrifice while serving in the Armed Forces of the United States.

Frank Griggs Post 370 of The American Legion, Department of Texas is holding a short, thirty minute memorial ceremony Monday, May 28 at 10:00am at the Post Home in Llano to do just that.

The guest speaker will be Harvey H. Klee, Immediate Past National Chaplain, The American Legion – the largest veterans organization in the world with membership of over 2.2 million, and currently The American Legion's Texas State Chaplain . Following his remarks, Chaplain Klee will close with prayer and the sounding of TAPS.

There will be no food served, no refreshments offered, no special discounted sales, no bands playing and no political speeches. All that is offered and intended is a solemn, reflective thirty minutes in which to contemplate and remember those who gave their lives in the defense of our country to preserve the freedom and liberty that we enjoy today.

The Post is located along the North side of the Llano River at the beginning of Badu Park on Legion Street.
