Llano Tea Party to host Glenn Hegar Texas State Comptroller

LLANO TEA PARTY TO HOST GLENN HEGAR, TEXAS STATE COMPTROLLER Do you know what the Comptroller does?  On February 6, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar will be in Llano to speak.  Here is your chance to get to know more about your State officials and learn exactly what they do.  ALL citizens of ALL political persuasions will benefit from this event.

As comptroller, Glenn is chief financial officer for the world’s 10th-largest economy. He has emerged as a passionate advocate for conservative financial management and government transparency who has focused on creating a more efficient and customer oriented agency.  He founded the state’s Transparency Stars program, pushed for smarter ways of investing our rainy day fund to protect it for future generations, and guided the formation of the nation’s first ever state-administered precious metals depository.

Glenn is a sixth-generation Texan who grew up farming land that has been in his family since the mid-1800s. He’s a 1993 graduate of Texas A& M University. He went on to earn his JD from St. Mary’s University and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Arkansas. Glenn has served in the Texas Legislature, where he worked on issues including public education, transportation, tax reform, government transparency, Second Amendment rights, water issues and tort reform.

Meeting is open to all interested citizens.  Dinner will be served at 6:30. 

Cost for dinner is $15 but it is not required to attend.  Reservations for dinner and/or seating is required. Please email Janet at [email protected] to reserve a dinner or to be assured there is adequate seating.

Doors open at 6:00pm.  Meeting is held at the Llano American Legion, 200 Legion, next to Badu Park.
