Lawn Care for Homeowners online seminar at John L Kuykendall Events Center

It’s impossible to make blanket recommendations for homeowners who want their lawn to perform to its utmost potential, but Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service has an incredible amount of science-based information that can direct homeowners on most lawn care questions and concerns.

To address these topics and bring homeowners up to date on what they can do to get more from their lawns, AgriLife Extension will host a technology assisted “Lawn Care for Homeowners” program in eight counties across AgriLife Extension’s west region.

The counties hosting this meeting include Andrews, Callahan, Coleman, Jones, Llano, Mills, Nolan and Val Verde.  The program will be presented on Feb. 27 at the various host sites via WebEx. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. with program starting at 6 p.m.  The cost of the program will be $10.

Two Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units – one general, one integrated pest management – will be offered.

The Llano County meeting will be taking place at John L. Kuykendall Event Center which is located at 2200 W Ranch Road 152 Llano, TX 78643

Jake Mowrer, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension soil nutrient and water resource management specialist will be presenting how “Healthy Soil and Nutrient Management is Where IPM Starts”.  Mowrer is a leader in increasing awareness and adoption of sustainable management practices for soil nutrients and water resources.

Becky Grubbs, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension turfgrass specialist will also discuss basic lawn care maintenance and weed control prevention. Grubbs will focus on the multifaceted approach homeowners can follow to create healthy, thriving grasses.

This program promises to offer something to everyone that attends, regardless of your lawn care experience.  So, mark your calendars for Feb. 27 at 5:30p.m. and let us help you improve your green thumb.
