Llano County Beef & Range Field Day


            This year’s Llano County Beef & Range Field Day is set for Tuesday, July 21,2020.  Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the John L. Kuykendall Arena & Events Center, 2200 Ranch Road 152, about 1.7 miles west of Llano.  The program will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and there is no charge to the participant.  Coffee will be sponsored by the Hill Country Livestock Raisers’ Association.

            Topics and speakers for the sessions will be: 

*Beef Caattle Panel – Their prospective on cattle production, cattle sales and range management. (Ken Jordan, Jordan Cattle Auction)

*Herbicide Update – Invora and Spike application (Dr. Robert Lyons, Professor and Extension Range Specialist, College Station)

*Proper Care and Weed Control – (Dr Larry Redmon, Professor and State Forage Specialist, College Station)

*FSA Updates- Government programs (Randy Meanius, Executive Director Farm Service Agency – CED Mason and Llano Counties.)

We will be offering two (2) continuing education units for people who have a private, commercial, or non-commercial pesticide applicatiors license. These hours will be 1 in general and 1 in integrated pest management.

            Make plans to attend this year’s field day.  Please RSVP to the Llano County Extension office at 325-247-5159 by 4:00 pm by July 16th so that we will have an accurate count for lunch.  You may also email the Llano Extension office at [email protected] with your response.  A ZOOM Session will also be used, to join this meeting on Zoom register at: https://agrilife.zoom.us/j/94967611117  Once registered, participants will be given the meeting link and have the option to join online or by phone.
