Joe's Bar in Llano Texas Hold 'Em, Ladies Night & Karaoke and Wednesday Night Trivia - Music of the 60s & 70s

Joe’s Bar in Llano

Put down that Rubik's cube, toss those love beads, and turn on your television; we're making this month's 4th-Wednesday special trivia event all about the television shows and movies of the 1970s and 80s!

Trivia is free to play, with gift card prizes for first ($50), second ($30) and third place ($20)!
Games generally last about an hour and a half to two hours, consisting of five rounds with a ten-minute "halftime" intermission between rounds 3 and 4. Game format will be questions asked verbally (some with an audio/video component) and then answers written down on provided sheets and turned in at the end of each round. Highest team score after all rounds are complete wins.
TVs, which feature the questions, are available on both sides of the bar - so feel free to sit anywhere!
Player limit on each team is six IF you want to compete for a prize, if you just want to have a huge team, that's fine - but you get a big asterisk by your name and no gift cards.
Use of cell phones during rounds is considered cheating, shouting answers is not how the game is played, and any form of hateful speech (written included) is very much not okay - any of these infractions may result in the disqualification (or removal) of your entire team.

$3 OFF for ALL drinks for the ladies, from 6pm to close!

It is also Karaoke Night (7pm - 10pm)! So grab your girlfriends and come make Wednesday YOUR night!

No buy-in! $15 prize for 1st place, $10 for second. 22 spots ONLY- seats are first-come, first-filled! Come play some cards with us in the back room at Joe's on Wednesdays!

For this month's special 4th Wednesday trivia night we'll be honoring some of the best decades for music with five rounds of trivia (audio rounds are bound to be in there somewhere) about the groovy tunes of the 1960s and 70s!

Cory Cross at Sundown, Llano

Texas native Cory Cross has been honing his specific brand of country music for over a decade. Getting his start playing guitar in church, Cory began crafting his own songs after being inspired by songwriters like Townes Van Zandt and John Prine. Now making the rounds at dance halls and dives across Texas, as well as sold out shows in Los Angeles and New York City, Cory and his band put on a performance that is equal parts rough-n-rowdy and tenderly intimate. Utilizing classic country instrumentation from steel guitars and fiddle, Cory’s band infuses their style of honky tonk with garage rock energy coming from fuzzy electrics and a thumping rhythm section. The Burden is made up of musicians that each bring their wide and unique influences to create a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh

Wayne Hancock at Sundown

Sundown -Llano

Wayne Hancock LIVE at Sundown.
*********$20 cash at the door********
Since his stunning debut, Thunderstorms and Neon Signs in 1995, Wayne “The Train” Hancock has been the undisputed king of Juke Joint Swing–that alchemist’s dream of honky-tonk, western swing, blues, Texas rockabilly and big band. Always an anomaly among his country music peers, Wayne’s uncompromising interpretation of the music he loves is in fact what defines him: steeped in traditional but never “retro;” bare bones but bone shaking; hardcore but with a swing. Like the comfortable crackle of a Wurlitzer 45 jukebox, Wayne is the embodiment of genuine, house rocking, hillbilly boogie.

The collection was recorded with legendary producer Shel Talmy (The Who, The Kinks, etc.).

.
Friday, March 14 8:00-11:00
Nashville Showcase featuring 3 of our very favorite Nashville honky tonk artists: Hannah Juanita, Mose Wilson, and Eliza Thorn. We’ve played the hell out of these artists’ albums the last few years and I couldn’t believe it when we got word that this show is happening. This is going to be an amazing night. Don’t miss this one, y’all.
.
Saturday, March 15 8:00-11:00
Kentucky-raised, NYC-based country musician and all around badass, Cliff Westfall is coming with his humorous approach to songwriting (think Roger Miller). Happy we can get Cliff in while he’s down in Texas.
.
Sunday, March 16 2:00-6:00
Atlanta-based musician Cody Bolden will be singing his “country music you’ll likely listen to”. His songs about bikes, beer, and bullshitting are perfect for a Sunday afternoon at Sundown.
