Enchanted Rock State Natural Area - Texas Parks and Wildlife

Join us on a nighttime hike to the top of Enchanted Rock!

We'll learn about (and maybe see!) some of the nocturnal animals that call the natural area home. We'll hike back under the light of the moon.

Meet at the gazebo at the beginning of the Summit Trail.

Time: About 2.0 hours.
Distance: 1.5 mile round trip.
Difficulty: challenging
Elevation gain: 425 feet.

* Insect repellant
* Dress for the weather
NO PETS are allowed on this hike.

Entrance fees: $8/adult; children 12 and under are free; no additional fees for park programs. Entry is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. Registration is not required to attend this hike. All are welcome!

IMPORTANT: The office closes at 4:30PM, you will either want to purchase your entrance permit online in advance (https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com/) or bring along cash to use the Self-pay Station. The latest available entrance permit is 4-8PM - all visitors must be in the park prior to 8PM when the entrance gate closes.

All programs are weather dependent -- if it rains, the Summit Trail and all elevated trails and areas of the park are closed.

You must be at the start location at the posted start time to join in on this event. The Summit Trail and all elevated areas in the park close half an hour after Sunset unless you are with a Park Ranger.
